Young Marine of the Year
JUNIOR & SENIOR LEADERSHIP ACADEMIES

Upon earning the ranks of Young Marine Lance Corporal through Young Marine Staff Sergeant, youth will have the opportunity during these rank periods to attend Junior and Senior Leadership schools.  As the Young Marines corp values focus on self discipline, leadership and team building, attending these schools will give the Young Marines not only the tools necessary to return to their units to assume leadership roles within their local units, but will also give them the opportunity to teach and instruct the Young Marines as the rules and Young Marine guidebooks require.

Junior and Senior Leadership schools are held on both the National and accredited levels.  The National academies are usually held during the summer months (Jun-July), whereas the accredited schools can be held anytime during the year at the hosting units discretion.  Because the schoolings per Fiscal Year are imited - ALL accredited Junior and Leadership schools must be coordinated through the Division Training Officer, as well as be approved by the Division Commander.
